Binance is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the market and it has been a great way to start acquiring digital assets in the market. Thousands of users have been using this exchange in order to buy, sell, hold and trade cryptocurrencies. However, not everyone is sure about where is Binance based.
Where is Binance Based?
As regulations have been growing in different countries, exchanges have been trying to find the best way to be compliant with international regulations and avoid issues with regulators. Binance is a very useful exchange because it operates in several jurisdictions and it allows users from several countries to have access to digital assets, this is why many users want to know where is Binance based.
It is worth pointing out that Binance’s main offices have been located mainly in Tokyo and Shanghai but they also have some other smaller offices in other countries. However, due to security reasons, Binance is not able to disclose all the places from where they are operating.
Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance stated about their decision to be working from different locations rather than from Hong Kong:
“In response to China’s decisions, we are moving our IP’s from Hong Kong to an offshore location. Now we have our IPs registered in BVI ( British Virgin Islands) and other locations. So we are registered in multiple locations and we have people in multiple locations. That way we will never be affected by one regulatory body.”
Of course, things change over time and Binance may have to change its location in the future. It is widely known that they are currently offering services for fiat currencies from its Binance Jersey exchange, its Singapore gateway, Uganda and other countries around the world.
Regulations are changing on a daily basis in all the world and it is for sure that Binance will be searching the friendliest country were to operate. Moreover, Binance has also opened an important centre in Malta where it is now working with a large number of employees and giving help to those that need it.
